TDECU Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located on the campus of the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. It opened in 2014 and serves as the home stadium of the University of Houston football team.
For the 2020 season, TDECU Stadium was selected as one of the eight host venues for the XFL, a professional football league that launched in February 2020. The Houston Roughnecks, led by head coach June Jones and quarterback P.J. Walker, played their home games at TDECU Stadium during their brief tenure in the XFL.
The stadium has a seating capacity of 40,000 and features state-of-the-art amenities, including a high-definition video board, luxury suites, and premium seating options. Additionally, the facility is equipped with advanced sound and lighting systems, making it an ideal venue for sporting events, concerts, and other large-scale productions.
Despite the XFL ceasing operations after just five weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TDECU Stadium continues to host a variety of events and activities, including University of Houston football games, concerts, and community events.
